Our students majoring in computer engineering attend the seminar "Networking" in the halls of our campus. seminar is led by Adri Gautama of Cisco Systems Indonesia. The seminar is very useful these days, so give insight, and we get to know about the Data Center and Cloud will be the topic of the seminar. I will give you some notes from the seminars we've attended.The Internet Changes Everything. The internet is literally changing every aspect of our lives. Its impact is no longer confined to just business. The internet is pervasive and its impact is being felt in the way people work, live, play and learn (John Chambers)

Currently there are 13 billion devices and every person there are 2 devices connected to the Internet. In 2020 estimated 50 trillion aka tone device, and each person will have 6 devices connected to the Internet. With a total content in 2020: 1 zetabyte. More than 6000 tablets sold in one hour. Currently, traffic is not just being in a writing course content, but also to shape the video traffic. Estimated that by 2014 video conferencing traffic will increase. The increase in traffic from a variety of content, especially video conferencing, the need for a data center.

Need for a data center as a storage area, which is shaped cloud data center, cloud is nothing new today, already 70% of companies move to cloud technology. Every employee, every student, and people can access the data through his account, anytime and anywhere. In this communication, a client does not have to require a device with a high specification, but enough with the devices that have a device connected to the Internet, so the client can enter into the desktop virtualization.

The thing to remember is that as the strategy and objectives:

1. Leadership in the core.
2. Collaboration
3. Data center / cloud
4. Video
5. Arsitecture for business

Please note that the data center is not located at one place, but have a backup data center. If you ask me whether the data stored in the data center can be safe? In this case we can make to the prevention of physical security. Access is permitted only by the owner and the virtual can be accessed only by the owner who has a "user account" only. Currently server growth will continue to increase, due to the need for greater data center. Then why data center must be maintained? because the data center that will be made in a cloud.

Here are some of the tools needed to build a cloud:
1. Switch
2. Router
3. Server
4. Shelves, Lock and others.

The data center will be very dangerous if the data center is "downtime" or "offline", this can be detrimental to customers. Conceivably, if a large company, say Google as a big company, then came to a server or data center they have experienced "downtime" or "offline". Another example facebook, the largest networking company is suddenly experiencing downtime or offline, many users will feel frustrated because they can not communicate.

The things to look out of the data center are: the anticipation of lightning, a data center must have a place, the blocks, the room, and a special door, data center must have ac pentrasi, fire (gas), lampus (put the light on good angles so that light can not block regular and shadow), the data center must have a physical backup.

These factors damage that often occurs in the data center, in general, is caused by two factors: natural origin (heat, cold, flooding, earthquake, lighting, water pollution contamination) and human origin (equipment failure, vandalism, unintentional, human errors , sabotage, terrorism, network saturation, virus, hacker). The damage usually occurs in many devices, therefore the need to do a treatment.

For example a company say the company "ABC" will make the data center as their cloud. Companies do not need to are concerned, the way of making the data center or the way care and payment, they hire a vendor that rents enough manufacturing services data center.

These types of data center:
1. TipeA: Tier-III (redundant)
2. 2Asc
3. TipeB: Tier-II (conceptual-not actual location)

To optimal a high-tech server, such as core i7, servers can be virtualized into multiple servers, initially in 1 rack server has only one server, it will be, one rack into 3 or 5 servers. In terms of cable can be more efficient. That will create the optimal server and more efficient. These calculations if

we set up a server virtualization:
1. 100% of Cisco's revenue (s 40B annually)
2. Supports all cisco order processing
3. Sixth data center spaced used.
4. 34.5 kW of power saved
5. Reduced maintenance a cost

2000: Virtualizaion
2010: Cloud

One thing that should be done in making the cloud is, have to be virtualized and authentication server (so that when the primary server is "downtime" then the data will be transferred to the backup server with the same profile). Note that the server can run many operating systems, applications, and desktop virtualization software. The importance of virtualization is to optimize a data center. With the cloud will save costs.
